Today was a terrible day for traffic – the N11 was backed up to Kilpedder so in a moment of genius (or madness) I headed to City West via The Sally Gap. While I met one car that was rescued from the icy conditions on the Gap I was confident I would make my job travelling via Glencree, Rathfarnham and Tallaght. And I did with time to spare. As I arrived I heard Pat Kenny read a text from a listener saying she had been on the N11 for two hours and still hadn’t got past Loughlinstown.
On the way back to Wicklow I came across a downed tree blocking the Enniskerry/Kilternan Road and lots of flooding. Before I went back to the office I grabbed this quick photograph of the N11 looking north.
Geogre Polk is the Chairman of the Carbon War Room and a world leader in thinking when it comes to climate change. I photographed him in Wicklow last week at a conference.

The training for the Four Peaks Challenge 2013 has begun. Saturday we did the Spinc and Sunday I did a quick solo dash in the snow up the Sugarloaf. This is an iPhone image I captured on the way down.
Please note at www.4B5.ie we are looking for sponsorship and donations so if you can help please do.
